John Balzer

John Balzer, 85 passed away at home on July 10, 2026. He was born on April 25, 1941 to Joseph and Marcella Weisensel Balzer.
He graduated from Pardeeville High School in 1959. John served in the U.S. Navy at Great Lakes Naval Station and at Pensacola, Florida. John loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was also an avid gardener.
He is survived by his brother Bob, Rockford, IL; sister, Joan Corning, Fond du Lac; and sisters-in-law Violet Bauer and Diana Balzer, both of Portage, WI. John is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Edward Wilbur and Gene; sister Marge Englebretsen and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, Pardeeville- John Henry Newman Parish. (formally St. Faustina). Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass on Tuesday. Interment will take place at Pardeeville cemetery with Military Honors.
